Sunday April 30

Today was an early morning in the gorgeous Kibbutz Farod. We were asked to meet at breakfast at 7:30am, but after the late evening the night before, many of us only woke up when hearing the constant booming of Mr. Schryvers fists against the wooden door. Once everyone ate their breakfast we made our way to yet another hike. On the long drive to the top of mount Meron, we suddenly stopped. Giving each other puzzled looks we finally learned that we weren't organized to do so. After a couple minutes the teachers organized a plan B. We enjoyed the mesmerizing views took our breath away. We drove to the northern tip of Israel bordering with Lebanon. Rosh Hanikra was our final destination. In this small tourist town, we watched the powerful sea from above. We walked through the grottos dug by the heavy, strong Mediterranean Sea.

We continued on our 17th day of touring by driving an hour towards Haifa. In Haifa we visited a Druze village on the highest peak of Mount Karmel. We got to learn about Druze culture and eat Druze foods. We learned with open minds as we were taught that the Druze didn't allow mixed marriages and conversion. Though there are different they are also similarities. For one, the Druze are very loyal and respectful to their country.

Later we returned to Kibbutz Farod and rested. A couple hours later we headed to a ceremony in a nearby Kibbutz remembering Yom Hazikaron and all the lost soldiers. It was an eventful day filled with learning experiences and fun times. Over all, it was a great day, it's too bad there are only a couple left.
