This morning, we awoke to the dreaded goodbye to our pen pals, (and the Golan) whom we dearly hope to see again in the future. Today begins our last Shabbat together in Israel. Walking in the holy city of Tzfat, you can really feel the start of Shabbat, as stores closed early, and children handed out candles. We visited the Safed Candle shop, had lunch, visited both Ashkenazi and Sfaradic synagogues, and toured the steep, stone streets, filled with staircases, and accents of blue. We also bought each other gifts, as a fun Secret Moses Shabbat in Tzfat. We are now hanging out in Kibbutz Farod, preparing for a CJA lead Shabbat program. Shabbat Shalom!
