Monday April 17

After a well needed sleep in, we headed out to a bit more modern part of Jerusalem then the Old City. We first went to a look out giving us a view of the East side of the Old City. From there we could see a church and Christian school. We then walked up the hill to a site we'd never have seen But we had learned some about. It was the Sir Moses Montefiore's windmill. We had previously learned about this structure at the replica at Heritage Park. Behind us also sat the carriage Montefiore used to ride around Israel and surrounding places. We then took a walk to the King David Hotel which unfortunately we couldn't enter however we enjoyed its exterior beauty and learned more about it. We crossed the street and went to the YMCA which compared to our YMCA's in Calgary was astonishing. After lunch and a break at the hotel we got a presentation from Neil Lazarus who was quite funny as well informing of current political events happening in the world and specifically in the Middle East. We then began a Activity about Yad Vashem which was heavy but was very worth it. We discussed many topics and seemed to be very intrigued in each others answers. NoW after a great day we are off to Ben Yehuda Street to finally eat some Chametz.
